SriLankan Aviation College’s First Transnational Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Batch Begins Training in Australia

Students of the first intake of the collaborative Australian Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering by Aviation Australia and SriLankan Aviation College, the training arm of SriLankan Airlines, has successfully completed the first part of the training in Sri Lanka and made their way to the Brisbane Campus of Aviation Australia to complete their diploma. 

The College partnered with Aviation Australia in response to the growing global demand for aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians, while advancing opportunities for youth in Sri Lanka and South Asia to pursue this lucrative career path.

SriLankan Aviation College is now preparing to enrol its next intake for the programme, scheduled to commence this September. The Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is offered as a transfer study programme, providing students in the region with a pathway to earn an Australian qualification along with a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-66 Certificate of Recognition, and eligibility to enrol in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree at CQUniversity Australia.

The training covers the EASA approved basic training course (B1.1). Students will complete the first six months of their studies at SriLankan Aviation College, before transferring to the Brisbane Campus in Australia to complete the remaining 15 months of the Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance by Aviation Australia. This includes practical and ‘live’ maintenance training at Aviation Australia’s EASA approved Part 147 facility.
