Vikram Rathour Appointed as Sri Lanka National Team Batting Coach
Sri Lanka Cricket appoints former India batting coach Vikram Rathour as the national team’s batting coach to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially announced the appointment of former India Batting Coach Vikram Rathour as the Batting Coach of the Sri Lanka National Team.
Rathour has been appointed on a consultancy basis, with his primary responsibility being the team’s preparation for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026. He will officially assume duties on 18 January 2026 and will remain with the Sri Lanka team until 10 March 2026.
A former India international, Vikram Rathour represented India in both Test and One-Day International cricket during his playing career. He brings with him vast coaching experience at the highest level of international cricket.
Rathour previously served as the Batting Coach of the Indian Men’s Team across all formats from September 2019 to July 2024, playing a key role in India’s batting development during that period.

Currently, Vikram Rathour is part of the Rajasthan Royals coaching staff in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he serves as the Lead Assistant Coach.
Sri Lanka Cricket believes Rathour’s extensive experience and technical expertise will be a valuable asset as the national team intensifies its preparations for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026.
