The Rotaract Club of University Alumni embarked on a unique project titled ‘People’s Vaccine’ as a measure to support the humanitarian and social efforts of the authorities in containing the affects of the pandemic and uplifting the community in the process.
People’s Vaccine was executed in two phases. The first stage was an awareness campaign themed ‘Be ready’, which was a trilingual campaign featuring posters, blogs, posts, webinars and interviews focusing on Good health practices during the pandemic from Mental and Physical health. The content communicated factors from balanced diets to managing stress during these trying times. Covid-19 updates and fact-checked posts too were circulated.
The Second Phase was where the Club collaborated with the Sri Lanka Standard Institution – SLSI to support companies to be introduced to the SLS 1672:2020 or the Covid-19 Safety Management system. Accordingly, Oproma Cosmetics (Pvt) Ltd a skin, hair, health care product manufacturing plant was introduced to the system, as a measure to ensure successful operations while keeping in line with all health and industrial guidelines in place.
